Schoolswaps presents…The Great Big School Swap!

Great Big School Swap logoAre you a teacher? Do want to receive some postcards from somewhere exciting for your class? If so, sign up to the first ever Great Big School swap!

++++++++NEWSFLASH+++++++++

I made a tiny mistake with the dates. Initially I typed July instead of June! I will be sending emails out to all participants with the correction shortly

++++++++/NEWSFLASH++++++++++++

The idea is very simple. You need to have a class of your own and a school address to take part. Fill in the form below by JulyJune 15th, 2011. After I have all the class details in, I’ll look for a similar class and give the teacher your address. You will also get an address of a similar class to send to. I’ll try and get the address of your partner to you by email by JulyJune 20th.

You will not be sending to the same class as you receive from (but you may choose to reply to them if you like). once you have the addresses, all postcards must be sent by JulyJune 25th, 2011.

As it’s the first time I’ve run this thing, it will be quite low-tech, so the process will be totally manual. To make things easier for me, if you have a number of classes, please enter the details for each one separately and include as much additional information as you see fit. I will do my very best to link you up with your preferred class types.

Your addresses will be submitted to a Google form, which is private. Nobody but I can access this and I promise to keep your data completely private. It will not be passed to anyone except the teacher who will send their class’s postcards to you. No participant information will be published unless I have your advance permission in writing.

If you have any suggestions, queries, or concerns please don’t hesitate to ask. You may reach me through the comments, on twitter @schoolswaps or by messaging me through this site. I’ll try to get back to you as quickly as I can.

Once you’ve signed up, why not leave a comment to tell everyone you’re involved!

So far the following countries are represented

I’ve started a group on the site to chat and answer questions, but do feel free to ask questions in the comments too. Also if you wish to start a blog on the site, feel free to do so (it is free). It would be great to see all the postcards up on the site and maybe some of the excitement of them all being made!

    I am Ola Bakri

    Any news about having a school?

      HI Ola

      I’m a tiny bit behind as my last post says. I’m on the final 30 schools and will not sleep tonight until all the schools are assigned! Watch your inbox tonight!

      • andy:

        Ola, you’ll be pleased and surprised to hear that all the classes that you will be paired with are all from different countries!

  2. Nermine Rezkalla:

    Fantastic idea – sorry I didn’t see this before ! Please let me know how it turns out and if you plan on doing it again. Thanks !

      Thanks Nermine. I hope to run another in October, when most schools will be back in session. Drop by around that time and get involved with our next one, or you could join up and run a swap yourself
